Gerrand Rath Johnson combines Gerrand Mulatz, founded in 1913 by E.W. Gerrand K.C., (obit) and carried on by his son G.L. Gerrand, Q.C., and Rath Johnson Hart, founded in 1954 by F.W. Johnson, O.C., Q.C., (obit) and E.D. Bayda, Q.C. (obit).
Gerrand Rath Johnson is proud of the predecessor firms' long standing reputation for integrity, experience and distinguished service both within and beyond the legal community. Chief Justice F.W. Johnson was Chief Justice of the Queen's Bench and later Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan. Chief Justice E.D. Bayda was Chief Justice of the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal until his retirement in September 2006.
Four other former partners have also been appointed to the Saskatchewan Court of Queen's Bench - the former Chief Justice Frank Gerein and the Honourable Mr. Justice Ian McLellan, from Gerrand Multaz, and the Honourable Mr. Justice K.R. Halvorson (now retired) and the Honourable Mr. Justice E.A. Scheibel, from Rath Johnson Hart. Former partner Anna Crugnale-Reid now sits on the Provincial Court for Saskatchewan.
